Large temple complex from the early 19th century, with Buddha paintings, golden statues & gardens.

The area is home to several stunning and majestic temples, each with its unique architectural style and cultural significance. The convenience of ample parking options and free parking is an added bonus. Visitors are expected to dress appropriately, covering their legs and shoulders, out of respect for the religious customs and traditions. It's recommended to explore the different temples, including those that allow visitors to go inside, for a complete experience.

Great place to feel Thai culture and religion. The temple is just full of a positive vibe. It must be on your see list for sure when you visit Phuket. It's free of charge but it's always nice to leave some donations. There is the local bus which costs only 40 BHT and it's a fantastic new experience to use it.

Chaitharam Temple, also known as Wat Chalong, is one of the most revered temples in Phuket, Thailand. The temple is incredibly well-maintained, and its beautiful architecture is simply stunning, with intricate details and vibrant colors. The atmosphere is peaceful despite being a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Inside, you can find several Buddha statues and shrines, adding to the spiritual experience. The temple grounds are clean, and the staff are helpful. It’s a wonderful place to visit to immerse yourself in Thai culture and history. Highly recommended!

Wat Chalong is very beautiful! It’s a must visit when going to Phuket.Although, a very touristy place with little chance of meditating, the buildings are beautiful to watch. We enjoyed our visit here. When done in Wat Chalong, visit Rim Tang for lunch or an afternoon snack.

Impressive temple with beautiful architecture and pleasant atmosphere. You have plenty to do around there ranging from "praying" with firecrackers, to paying respects to various Buddha figures. There is no fee, just the usual dress code for temples, but for men they are not very picky about your pants. There is a bus station nearby, but the bus is more like a lottery. Twice it came before the expected time on google maps and the last time it didn't come at all.

It was pretty. Multiple buildings and levels to peruse. If you've seen one temple, you've seen them all. You can make offerings here. Shake the sticks and have your fortune read. The first stick that comes out is your fortune. Each stick has a corresponding number. There is a slotted cabinet off to the side that has the fortunes. Blessings to you all.

Also known as the Wat Chalong this temple or temples is another big tourist destination. The entry is free and so is the parking. If you plan to visit in the summer then definitely being an umbrella and water. The place is huge with lots of places to sit in the shade. There are several temples here with striking architecture and a new was being built when we visited.A very interesting thing is you can make a wish and purchase fireworks then burn it for fulfillment.

This temple is a must-visit when you’re in Phuket. Be sure to dress neatly and respectfully—long pants or skirts are required. If you’re into photography, you can also borrow a traditional Thai dress and snap lots of pictures…haha! The temple offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for quiet reflection. You can also engage in good deeds, like feeding the fish and birds or even releasing fish into the lake. For those seeking a deeper experience, I highly recommend visiting to find a sense of peace and serenity

Peaceful and enriching experience 🕊️✌️. A must visit for men and women of faith and who love a bit of calm in their holidays. No tickets needed and this place can be clubbed with Tiger park and Big Buddha for a magical day of travel in Phuket. ✨

An interesting place to visit and have a closer look to the different temples. Some buildings were restricted and no access was possible. There were also renovations/reparations ongoing. Many people were here at the same time and therefore very crowded. A few monks were there too and did some preachings while people could give donation gifts.

The architecture and engineering involved in constructing this temple are awe-inspiring! However, I didn't find it as calm and peaceful during our visit as I usually do in other temples we have previously visited. I suppose it is because it is more of a tourist attraction.

For me there are two must see sight seeing destinations in Phuket. First the Big Buddha. Second the Wat Chalong. And that is the way I planned my private tour. Arriving here ,one cannot help but be moved in a strong and emotional frame of mind. The architecture of the temple structures is breathtaking. You begin to wonder, how much talent the builders had, to meticulously design and execute such stunning structures, so very long ago. Nothing that exists today, can come close or compare. I offered prayers, burnt the incense candles, gave flowers and robes to the deities. The presence of serenity, enveloped by the rich Buddhist culture, is everywhere. When it was time to leave, you are a different person, in mind, in perspective and in life. You are also more peaceful, with rich memories, that will be hard to forget.

Chaithararam Temple. Holy place. Enchanting nature. Lots of Temple. There has some resting place. Toilet facilities also available here. We went in sunny days. The color of cloud just mind blowing. Fire work sound was irritating although it has religious necessity. We spend there about 45 min. The architectural view were attractive.06 July'24.

This temple known as the Chalong Temple is one of the most majestic and memorable places we visited in Thailand. Make sure to dress modestly when visiting. If you have shorts on, they will provide skirts to cover. The temple grounds is huge and you can spend hours enjoying the beautiful building, garden, and view. This temple also has some of Buddha’s relic.

Wat Chalong, also known as Wat Chaitararam, is a true gem in Phuket’s cultural landscape. This temple stands as a testament to the island’s rich spiritual heritage and is a must-visit for anyone exploring Phuket. The temple’s architecture is stunning, with its intricate designs, vibrant colors, and the impressive grand pagoda that houses a revered relic of Buddha. The serene atmosphere of Wat Chalong makes it a perfect spot for reflection and meditation. The temple grounds are meticulously maintained, and the statues of revered monks add a sense of historical depth to the experience. As you walk through the halls, the peaceful chants of monks resonate, creating an ambiance of tranquility. What makes Wat Chalong even more special is its proximity to a beautiful lake just a short walk away. The lake’s calm waters reflect the temple’s spires, creating a picturesque scene that is perfect for photography or simply unwinding. The lake area is also a lovely spot for a quiet stroll, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling temple grounds.Overall, Wat Chalong is not just a place of worship but a cultural landmark that offers a deep connection to Phuket’s spiritual roots. The nearby lake only adds to the temple’s allure, making it a holistic experience for visitors.

Chaitaram Temple (Wat Chalong) in Phuket is an incredible place to experience Thai culture. The complex features around four or five temples, allowing visitors to witness traditional temple prayers and offerings. The atmosphere is clean and peaceful, making it a perfect spot for reflection. You'll appreciate the stunning Thai architecture and spiritual ambiance. Numerous shops near the temples offer various offerings, enhancing the cultural experience. I recommend wearing clothing that covers your knees and shoulders as a sign of respect for their customs.Entry is free, and there’s ample parking for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, also at no cost. While there’s no fee for anything, it’s a good idea to donate a small amount to help maintain this beautiful site. A must-visit destination that I highly recommend!

Wear shoes you can easily put on and take off and cover your shoulders and knees to make it easier to visit the temples. Lots of different temples to visit. The strip before the main gate has a few shops selling items for the temple and gifts

This place is incredibly beautiful! You should definitely visit this temple. There is a big parking lot in the temple grounds. There is also a very small market inside so you can buy some food and drinks if needed. Entry is free.

What a beautiful experience. A beautiful temple and a massive area of beautiful buildings. I've been here 100 of times but this time was my first time to get a blessing. You can buy or donate to get a gift bag for the munks then you go inside and get your blessing.

We visited Wat Chalong yesterday as part of our guided tour. It is a prominent Buddhist temple in Phuket, Thailand. It's renowned for its intricate architecture and vibrant decorations. It serves as an important spiritual center for locals and visitors. It is a sacred space dedicated to meditation and worship, featuring statues, altars, and serene environments.

Visited these beautiful group of temples on June 18th 2024 during a day/ group excursion. It’s the largest of Phuket temples. We were told that locals and many Thai tourists come to pray and pay respects to several revered monks who were the founders of Wat Chalong. We really enjoyed visiting the place and took many beautiful pictures in outside of the temples.

A beautiful temple which is land for a old temple and renovated new temple as well. Beautiful temple and they provide flowers for the offerings as well and you just have to put a donation. No entrance charge was applied and the place is nicely maintained and undergoing renovations these days. The standard dress code for all the temples apply for this place as well.
